1 tsp dhaniya powder (coriander powder)
1 tsp jeera (cumin seeds)
2 tbsp ghee ya tel (clarified butter or oil)
Namak (salt) swad anusar
Hara dhaniya (fresh coriander leaves), garnishing ke liye
Instructions
Dal ko bhigo ke rakho: Sabse pehle toor dal ko achhe se dhoke 30 minutes ke liye paani mein bhigo do. Isse dal jaldi pakti hai aur soft hoti hai.
Dal ko cook karo: Ek pressure cooker lo aur usme soaked dal aur 2 cups paani daal do. Haldi aur thoda namak bhi add kar do. Cooker ka lid band karo aur 3-4 whistles tak cook karo.
Pressure cooker ka pressure khatam hone ke baad lid khol ke dekho, dal soft aur mushy ho gayi hogi.
Tadka prepare karo: Ek kadhai mein ghee ya tel garam karo. Usme jeera daalo aur jab tak wo crackle na ho, tab tak bhuno. Phir finely chopped pyaaz daal do aur golden brown hone tak fry karo.
Masala banaye: Ab grated adrak aur chopped lasan daalo. 2-3 minutes tak fry karo. Phir chopped tamatar aur hari mirch daal do. Tamatar soft hone aur oil release hone tak cook karo.
Spices add karo: Ab is mixture mein lal mirch powder aur dhaniya powder daalo. Sabko achhe se mix karo aur 2-3 minutes tak cook karo.
Dal ko tadka mein mix karo: Ab cooked dal ko is tadka mixture mein daal do. Sabko achhe se mix karo aur agar zarurat lage to thoda paani aur add kar lo. Dal ko 5-10 minutes tak sim pe pakne do taaki sab flavors achhe se mix ho jayein.
Final touch: Taste check karo aur zarurat ke hisaab se namak adjust karo. Finally, hara dhaniya se garnish karo.
