Ingredients
Sabse pehle, hum ingredients ko ready kar lete hain:
Kulthi Dal (Horse Gram) - 1 cup
Pani - 3-4 cups
Pyaz - 1 medium size, finely chopped
Tamatar - 1 medium size, finely chopped
Hari Mirch - 2-3, slit
Lahsun - 4-5 cloves, finely chopped
Adrak - 1 inch piece, grated
Haldi Powder - 1/2 tsp
Red Chilli Powder - 1 tsp
Jeera - 1 tsp
Hing - 1 pinch
Garam Masala - 1/2 tsp
Salt - as per taste
Oil/Ghee - 2 tbsp
Fresh Coriander Leaves - for garnishing
Preparation
1. Kulthi Dal Ko Bhigoyen: Sabse pehle Kulthi Dal ko raat bhar ke liye paani mein bhigo dein. Agar aapko jaldi hai toh aap isse 3-4 ghante bhi bhiga sakte hain, lekin raat bhar bhigone se dal jaldi aur achhe se pakti hai.
2. Dal Ko Pressure Cook Karein: Bhigi hui dal ko pressure cooker mein daalein, 3-4 cups paani, thoda sa haldi powder aur namak daal kar 6-7 seeti tak paka lein. Iske baad gas band kar dein aur pressure nikalne dein.
3. Tadka Tayaar Karein: Ab ek kadhai ya pan mein oil ya ghee garam karein. Isme jeera daalein aur jab jeera crackle hone lage tab isme hing aur chopped pyaz daal dein. Pyaz ko golden brown hone tak bhun lein.
4. Masale Bhunein: Ab isme finely chopped lahsun, adrak aur hari mirch daalein. Inhe 2-3 minute tak bhun lein. Phir isme chopped tamatar, red chilli powder, haldi powder aur garam masala daal kar achhe se bhun lein jab tak tamatar soft aur oil chhodne lage.
5. Dal Aur Masale Ko Mix Karein: Pressure cooker mein bani dal ko is tadke mein daal dein aur achhe se mix karein. Agar dal zyada thik hai toh thoda paani aur daal sakte hain apni consistency ke hisaab se. 5-10 minute tak medium flame par dal ko pakne dein taaki sab masale dal mein achhe se ghul mil jaayein.
6. Garnish Aur Serve: Gas band kar dein aur dal ko fresh coriander leaves se garnish karein. Ab aapki nutritious aur swadisht Kulthi Dal tayaar hai serve karne ke liye.
